Le Mans FC has officially signed Louis Mafouta, the 32-year-old Central African striker and Ligue 2's second-top scorer last season. The Sang et Or club, currently 2nd in the league with 62 points (16 wins, 14 draws, 4 losses), strengthens its attack with an experienced and prolific player.
Who is Louis Mafouta?
Standing at 1.86m, Mafouta scored 15 goals and provided 2 assists for Guingamp in the 2025-2026 season. Since joining Ligue 2 in 2022, he has netted 50 goals in 134 matches with QRM, Amiens, and Guingamp. The Central African international (33 caps, 16 goals) has also played in Ligue 1 with Metz.
Why is this transfer significant?
Le Mans FC, in a tight title race 5 points behind leaders Troyes, aims for promotion. Mafouta, the 4th top active scorer in Ligue 2, brings experience and efficiency in front of goal. He joins Billal Brahimi, the club's first summer signing.
What's next?
After passing his medical, Mafouta was presented by president Pedro Oliveira. The club hopes his arrival will boost their offensive momentum, having already scored 50 goals this season (31 conceded).
