Le Mans FC has officially extended its partnership with egg brand Matines until 2028. The announcement, reported by the club's official website, comes as the Blood and Gold navigate their early Ligue 1 season, currently sitting 13th with one point from two games.

The club and its emblematic partner have decided to continue their collaboration for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 seasons. Their association began before the 2025-2026 campaign, a period marked by Le Mans FC's return to the top flight after a sixteen-year absence. "We are very happy to continue this adventure with Matines," said Le Mans FC. "Their trust and loyalty are important to us, especially at a time when Le Mans FC is back in Ligue 1."

What does this partnership involve?

Matines' commitment, with its headquarters in La Bazoge near Le Mans, goes beyond simple sponsorship. The 'Défi Matines' operation allows two local supporters to walk onto the pitch at the Stade Marie-Marvingt during halftime of each home match. They compete for a Matines jersey and gifts from the brand. This initiative strengthens the bond between the club and its fans. The current sporting context, with a defence that has conceded five goals in two matches, shows that every bit of support counts to stabilise the team.

Where does the team stand this 2026-2027 season?

The extension with Matines provides welcome off-field stability. On the pitch, the start to the league campaign has been challenging. Le Mans FC has scored four goals but let in five, resulting in a -1 goal difference. The team is six points behind leaders Lille after just two matches. The coaching staff must also manage the absences of Erwan Colas and Samuel Yohou, listed on our injuries page. The next challenge is an away trip to Nice, who are 17th, this Saturday, September 5th.

How is the club building for the future?

This loyalty from a local partner fits into a medium-term building dynamic. The club has, for instance, secured the future of Senegalese striker Habib Diallo, who arrived from Metz and is under contract until 2029. "Football is to sport what the egg is to cooking: essential, universal and accessible to everyone," the club added to explain the renewal. Consistency in projects, both on and off the field, is a key element for sustainability in Ligue 1. Supporters can track the league position on our dedicated standings page.

The immediate task for the players is to secure a first league win. They travel to the Allianz Riviera this weekend to face OGC Nice, a match you can follow in our fixtures calendar.
