Le Mans FC suffered a 3-1 defeat away to Paris Saint Germain on Saturday 10 October, in Ligue 1's sixth matchday. The loss leaves the club 14th in the table with six points.

Patrick Videira set his team up in a 3-1-4-2 formation. The hosts opened the scoring in the 19th minute through Lucas Beraldo, who converted a penalty. Le Mans responded after the break. From an assist by Lucas Calodat, Louis Mafouta equalised with a precise finish in the 54th minute. The goal takes his tally to four for the season in six appearances.

The hope was short-lived. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia restored PSG's lead seven minutes later. Maghnes Akliouche, set up by Warren Zaire-Emery, sealed the match at the 68th minute. Late on, Désiré Doue even missed a penalty for the hosts.

The match was characterised by Parisian technical dominance, with 73% possession and 22 shots. Le Mans committed seventeen fouls and received five yellow cards, one for Mafouta for dissent. Dame Gueye, introduced at half-time, was also booked.

This result confirms a tough spell, with two consecutive league defeats. The team must now regroup for the home fixture against Toulouse, who are 15th, on Friday 16 October at 20:45. The upcoming fixtures will be key to climbing the standings.

On October 14, RMC Sport reported that the referee initially awarded a second penalty to Paris Saint-Germain late in the match. The officiating team subsequently overturned this decision after a VAR review. The referee ruled that Vitinha had entered the penalty area before everyone else on the contentious play. This reversal came during stoppage time of the 3-1 defeat for Le Mans, who have now conceded ten goals this season.
